History

Founded in 2014

Discover Downtown Westbrook is a certified Main Street America community and works closely with parent organization, Maine Downtown Center. The National Main Street Center was established as a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1980 as a way to address the myriad issues facing older and historic downtowns during that time. Main Street America works wit over 2000 communities across the country, helping to restore economic vitality, celebrate historic character, and bring communities together in their downtowns. This success is brought together by the Four Point Approach, namely Economic Vitality, Design, Organization and Promotion.
