Romans 12:4-5 NIV

"For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."

 

I am sure you have heard this before.  The church, as a body, made up of many parts in order to function as one.  It creates a strong picture of how a body of believers works. 

 

I'd like to zero in on that last part, though. The part that says, "and each member belongs to all the others." It shows how well we can work as a body when we feel connected to all of the other parts.  We aren't parts acting independently.  We are accepting of our roll, responsible to it, and supportive of the other parts.

 

The body works better when we understand each other's roll and do our best to support one another.  We are also better able to compensate when a member is sick or somehow incapacitated.  A healthy body must move!  

 

I am proud to be a part of the Denton Church of the Nazarene body! I can't wait to see how well we can move together.  God has big things in store for those who obediently move forward!
