Then and Now #25 - First National Bank Building #1

πŸ“ First National Bank Building #1, located at 703 Webster Street πŸ›οΈ, was originally constructed in the early 1880s πŸ—οΈ as a book πŸ“š and jewelry πŸ’ store, though later in the decade, the building underwent significant renovation πŸ”§ and became the First National Bank Building 🏦. As noted earlier in this series with building #9, First National Bank moved down the street in 1907 πŸ“† to what is now 701 Locust StreetπŸ“. Following that, the building was used by the Chamber of Commerce around 1917 🏒. For most of its history πŸ•°οΈ the building has been used as offices πŸ’Ό for a series of different businesses and professionals πŸ‘”. The American Legion used the space around 1940 πŸ“… and today the building is used by the Birthright. The building itself is an impressive example of the Italianate style πŸ›οΈ on a commercial property 🏬. Through facade grants πŸ’° from Mainstreet over the years πŸ“† it has maintained much of its original charm.
