Then and Now #25 - First National Bank Building #1

📍 First National Bank Building #1, located at 703 Webster Street 🏛️, was originally constructed in the early 1880s 🏗️ as a book 📚 and jewelry 💍 store, though later in the decade, the building underwent significant renovation 🔧 and became the First National Bank Building 🏦. As noted earlier in this series with building #9, First National Bank moved down the street in 1907 📆 to what is now 701 Locust Street📍. Following that, the building was used by the Chamber of Commerce around 1917 🏢. For most of its history 🕰️ the building has been used as offices 💼 for a series of different businesses and professionals 👔. The American Legion used the space around 1940 📅 and today the building is used by the Birthright. The building itself is an impressive example of the Italianate style 🏛️ on a commercial property 🏬. Through facade grants 💰 from Mainstreet over the years 📆 it has maintained much of its original charm.
