Meet the New Intern!

About Me

Hi! I’m Jayme, and I’m a junior at Frostburg State University working toward a degree in English with concentrations in professional writing and creative writing. I also have a minor in geography. On campus, I’m a writing/academic skills tutor, editor-in-chief of production and design for the student arts magazine Bittersweet, and president of FSU’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English Honor Society.

My main interests include roadtripping across the country, camping, competitive horseback riding, and writing. If Clatter Cafe has a poetry slam, you can probably find me there! My career goals are to go into the publishing and editing business, but I’d also like to become a published author.

My Frostburg Favorites

As I mentioned, I love to attend the Clatter Cafe poetry slams, but their caramel lattes often draw me in during the daytime, too! The Frostburg Library is a great place to engage with the community, and the poetry section and magnet poetry wall at Main Street Books are my go-to spots when I’m feeling like I need a new book or some artistic inspiration. I'm originally from Butler, PA and therefore don't know Frostburg Main Street in its entirety, so I'm excited to try new spots, as well!
