"The Moving Wall - Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica"

For four days, Mason City will have the honor of hosting “The Moving Wall,” a traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.  This powerful memorial carries the names of more than 58,000 American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War and has traveled the nation since 1984.  “The Moving Wall” will be on display at the North Iowa Events Center, Friday through Monday, September 25th through September 28th.  The movie wall is hosted by Operation Golden Hawk and presented by North Iowa-Southern Minnesota Veteran Stand Down.  This event is FREE to the public to attend.  This is a powerful opportunity to pay tribute, learn, reflect and honor the sacrifices made for our freedom.  Event time is 10 AM to 4 PM but subject to change.  You may want to call ahead of time to check.

Come see the wall on Saturday, September 26th and if you are a Veteran, visit the “Veteran Stand Down Event” hosted by Remembering Our Fallen.  Doors open at 8 AM with an Opening Ceremony at 10 AM.  There is a Closing Ceremony at 4 PM.  This is a free resource event connecting Veterans with local services including VA benefits, healthcare, housing assistance, employment resources, legal aid, food, clothing and other community support.
