in News

The City of Weston, West Virginia, is proud to highlight Adam Simms, who was selected by the Weston City Council in December 2025 to serve as the Ward 4 Councilman following the resignation of former councilman Herb Curtis.

Councilman Simms stepped forward to continue the important work of representing Ward 4 residents and helping guide the future of our community. We are grateful for his willingness to serve and for his commitment to the City of Weston.

Getting to Know Councilman Simms

What motivated you to accept the appointment to the City Council?

“I have been a life-long resident of Lewis County, and I deeply love the city of Weston. I wanted to be a part of my community and do what I can to improve the city and help it grow.”

Priorities for Ward 4 and the City

As he serves on City Council, Councilman Simms has identified several priorities he hopes to focus on during his term.

His top priority is maintaining a safe and welcoming community where residents can live and enjoy everything Weston has to offer. He is also passionate about addressing long-term challenges and opportunities related to population growth.

“The population of Weston has been in decline since the 1950s, and I would like to see that change.”

Councilman Simms is also focused on infrastructure improvements, particularly within Ward 4. His priorities include:

  • Upgrading or replacing aging sewer lines
  • Improving stormwater infrastructure
  • Implementing a Geographic Information System (GIS) program within the city government to better manage data and support planning

These improvements would help strengthen the city’s infrastructure while preparing Weston for future development and growth.

What Makes Weston Special

For Councilman Simms, the best part about living in Weston is simple: the people.

“The thing I enjoy most about living in Weston is the people and the sense of community.”

That strong community spirit continues to make Weston a special place to live, work, and raise a family.

A Message to Ward 4 Residents

Councilman Simms emphasized that his role is to represent the voices of the residents he serves.

“I am here as a representative of the residents of Ward IV and I will do my best to make decisions that I feel are in the best interest of the City and the Ward IV residents.”

He also encourages residents to stay engaged and communicate with him.

“I would like to encourage all residents to reach out to me with any concerns, questions, or ideas that they may have. I will do whatever I can to improve our community, and the opinions and suggestions of the residents are extremely important to me.”

Thank You for Your Service

The City of Weston would like to thank Councilman Adam Simms for his commitment to public service and his dedication to the citizens of Ward 4 and the entire community.

We look forward to continuing to work together to build a strong and vibrant future for Weston, West Virginia.
