The City of Weston, West Virginia, is pleased to introduce Josh Droppleman, who was appointed to serve as Ward 2 Councilman following the resignation of former councilman Steven White. By stepping into this role, Councilman Droppleman joins the Weston City Council to represent residents and work toward a strong future for our community.

We appreciate his willingness to serve and his commitment to supporting the residents and businesses that make Weston such a special place to live.

Getting to Know Councilman Droppleman

What motivated you to accept the appointment to the City Council?

“I accepted the appointment to the Weston City Council because I care deeply about the future of our community where I grew up and felt a strong responsibility to step up when the opportunity arose. I’ve always believed that local government has the most direct impact on people’s daily lives, from public safety and infrastructure to economic development and neighborhood services.”

He also emphasized the importance of representing residents and working collaboratively to move the city forward.

“Most importantly, I accepted the role to represent the voices of our residents, ensure thoughtful and transparent governance, and work collaboratively to move our city forward in a way that benefits everyone.”

Priorities for the Community

As he serves on City Council, Councilman Droppleman is focused on maintaining and strengthening the qualities that make Weston a great place to live.

“Weston is known for its safer neighborhoods, strong sense of community, and high quality of life.”

His priorities include:

  • Supporting public safety
  • Maintaining and improving city infrastructure
  • Preserving the character and charm of Weston
  • Encouraging open communication and transparency in government

Councilman Droppleman also emphasized the importance of trust between residents and their local government.

“Strong communities are built on trust. I am committed to open communication, listening to residents, and ensuring decisions are made with transparency and accountability to best accommodate the business and residents of Weston.”

For Councilman Droppleman, the strongest asset of Weston is its people and the sense of connection among neighbors.

“What I enjoy most about living in Weston is the strong sense of community. It’s a place where neighbors truly know and support one another, and where families feel safe and connected.”

He also highlighted the pride residents take in their city.

“There’s a shared pride in keeping our city beautiful, welcoming, and well-maintained. But more than anything, it’s the people. Weston is made up of engaged, caring residents who want the best for their families and their city.”
