Geiger Ready Mix Welcomes the Community for Open House and Ribbon Cutting

The De Soto Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Council was proud to join Geiger Ready-Mix on September 30 for an Open House and Ribbon Cutting celebrating its new De Soto plant. The celebration brought together the Geiger team, community members, business partners and elected officials to recognize this significant investment in our community.

Chad Tenpenny welcomed attendees and introduced “The Geiger Way,” sharing the core values that guide the company.

Mayor of De Soto, Rick Walker and several other elected officials also offered remarks recognizing the investment and this milestone for Geiger and the De Soto community.

Geiger’s connection to De Soto began with a mobile concrete plant supporting the construction of Panasonic’s battery manufacturing facility. That project has grown into a lasting presence with the company’s $36 million plant on Evening Star Road, just south of K-10, which began production in late July. CEO Todd Geiger reflected on that growth, saying, “Panasonic brought us out here to the community, and the data centers are taking us to the next level.”

For the Chamber & EDC, this is an example of how major investments can create opportunities beyond the original project. Geiger came to De Soto to support Panasonic’s construction and saw an opportunity to establish a permanent location. De Soto’s growth and convenient access to K-10 positions the company to serve our community and the surrounding region. That commitment brings local jobs and additional capacity to support future construction.

The open house gave guests a closer look at the business through facility tours, conversations with the Geiger team and a Touch-A-Truck experience for families. The ribbon cutting provided an opportunity to celebrate the work and partnerships that helped bring the facility to life.

One fun detail to look for on Geiger Ready-Mix trucks: each is personalized with its driver’s name and years with the company. It’s a thoughtful way to recognize the people behind every delivery and a memorable connection to “The Geiger Way.”

With over 130 years of history, the family-owned company brings extensive experience to its newest location. The plant includes enclosed equipment for handling materials and advanced systems designed to manage dust and noise. The project also included extending Evening Star Road by half a mile, adding infrastructure alongside the facility.

We appreciate Geiger’s investment in De Soto and the team’s willingness to open its doors, share its story, and build connections with the community. As a Chamber & EDC investor, Geiger is also part of our ongoing work to support a strong local business community.

Congratulations to the entire Geiger team on this milestone, and thank you to everyone who joined the celebration. We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting your success in De Soto.
