May 2026 Luncheon: Community, Conversation, and Baseball

The De Soto Chamber of Commerce welcomed guests to its May 13 Luncheon, hosted by De Soto City Hall and sponsored by Keepers of the Sandlot and Chick-Fil-A Lenexa. The luncheon provided an opportunity for members to engage, connect, and gain insights to support their business.

Jay Marquette of Marquette Physical Therapy started off the lunch with De Soto Chamber announcements and updates which can be viewed below or on our events calendar. Josh Munyan, Director of Partnerships for Chick-Fil-A Lenexa, spoke about how to partner with Chick-Fil-A for events.

Bill Severns Takes Center Stage 

Bill Severns, founder of Keepers of the Sandlot and author of three books, spoke on the importance of leadership, teaching parents how to encourage their children, and the importance of teaching kids how to problem-solve on and off the field. Guests had the opportunity to hear about his childhood, baseball and coaching career, and the inspiration behind his three books.
