EDC Breakfast Solution Series: Empowering the Region's Workforce
The Economic Development Council Breakfast gathered EDC investors and community members together to learn about the workforce issues that the Kansas and Missouri Regions face. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from EnterpriseKC on their data and processes, all while enjoying a breakfast from Chick-Fil-A Lenexa.
Tim Holverson, President of the EDC, started off the morning with project updates, upcoming EDC events, and a “thank you” to the Visionary Investors: Beale Infrastructure, Evergy, HDR Inc., and Panasonic Energy, as well as the Catalyst Investors, KBS Constructors and Turner Construction Company.
David Frankland, CEO of EnterpriseKC, gave a presentation on who EnterpriseKC is and what they offer to the Kansas and Missouri regions. EnterpriseKC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Leawood, KS, works directly with business, academia and government to accelerate growth and economic development in the Kansas and Missouri regions. They support start-ups, accelerate innovation, and work to keep the existing talent and jobs we already have in the region, as well as identify strategies to bring more growth. David emphasized that EnterpriseKC, “wants this region to no longer be a flyover zone, but a destination.”
