EPIC Summer: Media Lab Workshop!

First, our teens sat down and watched a presentation on media terms and strategies.

Next, we all sat down and had a giant brainstorming session!

Finally, we put everything we had learned together, and created some content!

The teens broke off into small groups to brainstorm ideas, write their scripts, and work through the details of the videos they wanted to create. It was exciting to see each group take a different approach to the project. Some participants chose to team up and create fun skits together, while others preferred to develop their own unique concepts and messages independently. They all lent a helping hand and even swapped scripts and acting roles to find the best fit. 

Of course, no video production day would be complete without a few silly moments along the way! We captured several blooper reels that kept everyone smiling and reminded us that learning can be just as fun as it is rewarding.

By the end of the day, the teens had created videos they were proud of and walked away with new skills in communication, teamwork, and media production. More importantly, they left with a greater sense of confidence and validation, knowing that their ideas and voices matter. Watching them embrace their creativity, face their fears, and share messages they felt passionate about was one of the most rewarding parts of the day.
