Dutch Oven Potluck: Fire Up the Coals and Gather Your Recipes

Fire up the coals and gather your recipes—Hamilton County Conservation invites the public to a Dutch Oven Gathering Potluck on Wednesday, June 18 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Outback Area behind the Conservation Office, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail, Webster City. Whether you're a seasoned outdoor cook or just curious about Dutch oven cooking, this event is a fun, flavorful way to explore a timeless tradition. Once a survival skill for early pioneers, Dutch oven cooking has become a beloved hobby for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Participants are encouraged to bring:
  • A Dutch oven and cookware
  • Food and ingredients to prepare a dish
  • A favorite recipe to share (copies welcome)
  • Lawn chairs for outdoor seating
  • Their own plate and silverware (some disposables will be available)
Dishes will be cooked over open campfires or with charcoal, and we’ll enjoy the meal together outdoors or in the Conservation Office display room in case of weather. Whether you're cooking or just want to learn and taste, you're welcome to join us. Registration is encouraged at www.mycountyparks.com.
