Announcing the 2026 Citizen of the Year, Catalyst, and Young Leader Awards

Each year, the Emmetsburg Chamber of Commerce honors individuals whose leadership, service, and dedication help shape the future of our community. These awards highlight the people who strengthen Emmetsburg through innovation, volunteerism, and a commitment to making our hometown better for generations to come.

We are proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the MidAmerican Catalyst Award, the Charles A. Hughes Citizen of the Year Award, and the Young Leader Award.

2026 Citizen of the Year: Cindy Magee

The Charles A. Hughes Citizen of the Year Award recognizes an individual whose outstanding dedication to Emmetsburg is demonstrated through years of meaningful service, leadership, and volunteer contributions. This honoree embodies the highest ideals of community commitment and has made a lasting, positive impact on the people and place we call home.

Catalyst Award: Cory Elbert

The MidAmerican Catalyst Award recognizes individuals or organizations whose forward-thinking leadership and dedication have catalyzed meaningful progress in Emmetsburg. Honorees exemplify the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and community impact that strengthens our community for the future.

Young Leader Awards: Ty Harson and Ashley Moe

The Young Leader Award honors emerging changemakers who devote their time, resources, and passion to the organizations and projects that strengthen Emmetsburg. Through their vision, leadership, and dedication—whether in the spotlight or working quietly behind the scenes—they help drive meaningful progress and inspire a stronger community for the future.
