July 4th Celebrations

Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Independence Day in Emmetsburg with several days of family-friendly activities, entertainment, and community traditions.

The festivities begin on Wednesday, July 2, with a Mural Park Paint-by-Number event from 4-7 p.m. at Mural Park. Later that evening, the Birdchild Band will perform a free concert beginning at 7 p.m. at The Shores at Five Island, followed by a fireworks display over Five Island Lake at dusk.

The celebration continues on Thursday, July 3, with the annual Glowball Tournament at Five Island Golf Course. The tournament will begin with a 6 p.m. shotgun start and promises a fun evening on the course.
On Friday, July 4, community members are encouraged to gather at Soper Park for the annual July Jamboree. Activities begin at 10 a.m. with kids races, while yard games, temporary tattoos, Music and Market in the Park, and additional family activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A patriotic ceremony featuring Taps, the VFW Color Guard, and the Mayor's address will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a performance by the Emmetsburg Municipal Band at 11:30 a.m.

The holiday weekend concludes on Saturday, July 5, with the Kiwanis Annual Flight Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Emmetsburg Airport. Community members are encouraged to come together to celebrate the nation's independence, support local organizations, and enjoy a fun-filled holiday weekend in Emmetsburg.
