A thank you from FIFA and all of us at KC2026

As we continue to reflect on an extraordinary World Cup experience across our region, we wanted to share a special message of thanks that KC2026 recently received from FIFA. In its letter, FIFA recognized not only Kansas City’s role as a Host City, but the way our entire region came together to welcome the world—calling out the neighborhood watch parties, local organizers, community partners, volunteers and fans who created celebrations and a spirit of hospitality that reached far beyond the stadium.

That recognition belongs to all of you. From the earliest days of planning, you embraced the opportunity to make the World Cup something our communities could experience and celebrate together. You invested your time, creativity and resources to bring the tournament to life in cities and neighborhoods throughout the region—and to make visitors from around the world feel at home here.

We’ve shared FIFA’s message on LinkedIn, and we would be grateful if you would help us extend this thank you by sharing the post with your own networks and communities: View and share the KC2026 LinkedIn post. As FIFA wrote, “The world came to Kansas City, and Kansas City gave the world something it will never forget.” We know that happened because thousands of people across our region chose to be part of welcoming the world—and you helped lead that effort in your communities. Thank you for everything you did to make this moment possible. We are incredibly grateful to have shared it with you.

With appreciation,

The KC2026 Team
