10 Ways to Level Up Your Chamber Membership

Your York Chamber of Commerce membership comes with more than a web listing and brochure rack. It is a built-in marketing engine, a business connector, and a practical support system designed to help you stay visible, relevant, and in motion. With new website integrations, expanded promotional tools, and more opportunities to connect with both the public and fellow members, it is easier than ever to get real value from your membership.

Here are 10 ways to level up your Chamber membership and make sure your business is taking full advantage of what is available.

1. Tap Into Website Integrations with Zoom Support and Chamber Office Hours

We have made major improvements to the Chamber website through our new web developer, Locable. This platform gives members more control, better syncing options, and smarter ways to keep information fresh across the web.

One of the biggest perks is that Locable offers one-on-one Zoom support to walk you through your access and show you all the ways you can engage. Members can also take advantage of syncing abilities with google and social media, as well as the ability to create events or automatically feed event calendars into the Chamber website. That means less double entry, fewer missed opportunities, and an instant lift for your promotions.

To set up a time to come into the chamber to talk membership, fill out the form below.

2. Keep Seasonal Hours and Summer Hiring Info Up to Date

As seasons shift, so do business hours, opening dates, and staffing needs. Your Chamber listing should reflect that.

By connecting your Google Business Profile, your information can stay more current and consistent, helping visitors find the right hours and details when planning where to go. You can also add seasonal opening dates to your Chamber web listing so our team can easily point callers in the right direction.

This is especially important as we receive frequent calls from people looking for seasonal businesses and summer employment. We regularly encourage job seekers who reach out to check our job board, and members can boost their hiring efforts by posting open positions directly through the portal.

Long story short - if you are hiring, opening for the season, or adjusting hours, this is the time to get it online.

To login and add these to your profile, see our login page.

3. Add Offers to Reach the Public and Fellow Members

All members now have the ability to add offers through their portal that can appear on their web listing and may also be featured on the Chamber homepage. These offers can be geared toward the public or toward other member businesses, giving you another way to drive attention, visits, and goodwill.

Maybe it is a seasonal special. Maybe it is a discount for fellow members. Maybe it is a first-visit incentive. Whatever the case, this is a simple tool that puts your business in front of people when they are actively looking for places to go, shop, dine, or book.

To login and add these to your profile, see our login page.

4. Use Reciprocal Linking to Strengthen Your Web Presence

One of the most underrated tools in your Chamber membership is reciprocal linking.

When your business website links to your Chamber listing and your Chamber listing links back to your website, it creates a stronger digital pathway for customers and search engines alike. Local chambers carry authority in search and community visibility. Linking your business back to that ecosystem helps bring things full circle in a way that is good for awareness, credibility, and traffic.

You can do this by including the chamber's logo and link in your footer or on a community focused page on your website.

5. Attend Educational Sessions Like Chamber Chats and Workshops

Membership is not just about promotion. It is also about access to ideas, people, and problem-solving.

We now host networking morning sessions called Chamber Chats — early-day gatherings where members can meet, mingle, and talk through common issues affecting the business community. We also host afternoon Workshops, and time after time these sessions have helped people work through real challenges and leave with a clearer plan. Sometimes the best next step in business is not a grand strategy. Sometimes it is one smart conversation in a room with the right people.

To find upcoming events, use our Events Calendar industry events filter.

6. Become a Speaker or Host a Chamber Chat

Want to raise your visibility and position yourself as a resource? Become a speaker.

Members can sign up to host a Chamber Chat, either by using Chamber space to lead a conversation around a topic affecting the business community or by inviting members into their own space for a session.

This is one of the best ways to engage with fellow professionals in a more meaningful way. It creates connections, opens partnership opportunities, and puts your business in the middle of productive conversations. Chamber Chats are now being scheduled into fall and early 2026, so this is a good time to get on the calendar.

To reach our about becoming a speaker, fill out the form below.

7. Participate in our Flagship Events and Get in Front of Thousands

Members can volunteer, sponsor, table, and participate in events like York Harvestfest. Our premier fall craft festival that is currently in its 41st year.

Our Farmer’s Market also draws hundreds of visitors from across New England who come out to explore local wares, crafts, food items, and more. Businesses can participate in different ways, whether through booth space, sponsorship, or even by offering a complimentary activity that helps engage visitors directly.

To participate, use the vendor application forms on our Farmer's Market or Harvestfest websites.

8. Utilize Web Upgrades + Digital Marketing Optimization

E-Blasts: If you are a new member in your first year, you receive a complimentary eblast sent to all Chamber members. All you have to do is reach out and ask. We will work with you to create a strong piece that can promote an event, highlight an offer, or simply introduce your business to the membership.

After that, members can continue promoting through dedicated eblasts for $50 each or 5 for $200.

What's Happening in York Region Newsletter (new in 2026): Submit your events, offers, and blogs to us by the last Friday of the month to get exposure in our monthly newsletter that goes out to all our contacts (local businesses, event participants, visitors, etc.). Submit your offerings here

Enhanced Listing: We have also added an additional boost for members looking for additional exposure. You may now purchase an enhanced listing which shows your logo on your web listing and on the directory, so you get an added level of brand awareness from the search page for $39 for the year.

Custom Call to Action: You may now utilize a button link that goes directly to a booking page to encourage visitors to move down the funnel and connect with your business. This button is being rolled out and can be added for $49 for the year (when tracking and new data points can be added this rate may be adjusted, so utilize it now for a low price). You may add your own UTM codes to track this via your Google Analytics 4 account.

9. Share Print Materials and Brochures at the Chamber

Print is always going to be a piece of the pie. Digital matters, but do not forget to share your brochures, flyers, and promotional materials with us so we can display them prominently at the Chamber. Visitors stop in looking for information every day, and printed materials remain a useful and tangible way to stay in front of them.

You can drop off materials for us to share inside and outside the building, giving visitors access around the clock.

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY:  Members can also increase brochure distribution through additional kiosk exposure, which gives your materials even more visibility (4 additional kiosk locations)

To participate in additional kiosks, fill out the form below letting us know your interest.

10. Watch for Seasonal Promotions and New Partnership Opportunities

We are already assembling a 2026 Restaurant, Drinks, & Entertainment Guide highlighting area dining and entertainment, and additional promotional opportunities are always emerging throughout the year. Our Annual Golf Tournament and Online Auction are also coming up in June, offering more ways to participate, sponsor, and gain exposure.

We have also made it easier than ever to work with us thanks to our new website tools and the connection of our online bill pay system. Members can now manage their accounts more independently while still getting the guidance, support, and resources the Chamber is known for.

Volunteer Recognition Certificates (New in 2026):

Does your business rely on a dedicated volunteer who goes above and beyond? Whether they support daily operations, assist at events, or help lead special programs, the York Region Chamber of Commerce wants to help recognize the people behind the progress.

Seasonally volunteers will receive a sweet treat from Beach Pea Baking Co., a Volunteer Recognition Certificate, and recognition through a Chamber press release and digital campaign highlighting their impact across the York Region. Submit your nominee here
