Why Should My Business/Club/Group Join the Love Labette Week Challenge?

The short answer is bragging rights. This beautiful traveling trophy will be up for grabs and remain in the possession of the group or organization that gives the most volunteer hours during Love Labette Week. The caveats being to be eligible for the trophy, 1) your org/group/business must be a Chamber member and 2) your leader/president must submit the number of volunteer hours worked by members during LLW to Liz at the Chamber by noon on Tuesday, April 28th. (Not a member? No problem! We'd still love to have you participate, you just won't be eligible for the trophy. You can still sign up to help!)

The better reasons are...

Love Labette Week is more than a clean-up effort. It is a communitywide invitation for businesses and organizations to lead by example, build connections, and show pride in the place we all call home. When local teams step outside their offices and into neighborhoods, parks, and shared spaces, they help create visible change that benefits everyone who lives and works in Labette County.

Participating in the Love Labette Week challenge gives organizations a simple and meaningful way to demonstrate community leadership. Whether it is helping a neighbor with yard work, supporting exterior home improvements ahead of Paint Parsons, organizing a volunteer crew, or adopting a small project area, each effort strengthens the sense of partnership that keeps our communities moving forward.

Love Labette Week also creates opportunities for team building. Employees enjoy working together outside their usual routines, and volunteering side-by-side helps strengthen workplace morale while reinforcing a shared commitment to service. These experiences often become some of the most memorable and rewarding moments for staff members.

Businesses that participate also increase their visibility in a positive way. Community members notice organizations that invest time and energy locally. Taking part signals that your business cares about Labette County’s appearance, its people, and its future. That kind of leadership builds trust and strengthens relationships with customers, neighbors, and fellow organizations.

Most importantly, participation helps create momentum. When one organization steps forward, others follow. Together, those efforts add up to cleaner neighborhoods, stronger connections, and a more welcoming place for residents, visitors, and future investment.

Organizations of every size can take part in Love Labette Week. Whether your team volunteers for an hour, a day, or multiple projects throughout the week, your participation helps make a lasting difference. Register below to join the challenge and be part of the effort to show just how much Labette County cares.
