Love Labette Week Shows the Power of Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Love Labette Week once again demonstrated what makes our communities across Labette County so special. Thanks to volunteers, partner organizations, and residents who stepped up to help one another, this year’s effort was a tremendous success. From yard cleanups to exterior home projects and neighborhood improvements, participants worked side by side to make a visible difference throughout the area.
While the official week has wrapped up, the spirit of Love Labette continues. Following recent storms, several neighbors still need assistance, and the Chamber is encouraging community members to stay connected and keep the momentum going. Residents who need help—or who are willing to lend a hand—are invited to reach out on the Chamber's Facebook Post so volunteers and requests can be matched. In particular, there are currently two yards in Parsons still needing volunteers with mowers and a couple of hours to help complete the work.
Love Labette Week is a reminder that meaningful change doesn’t require large budgets or complicated plans; it simply takes people showing up for one another. The Chamber is grateful to everyone who volunteered their time, checked in on neighbors, shared resources, or helped spread the word. Together, these efforts strengthen not only homes and neighborhoods but the sense of connection that defines Labette County.
