Member of the Day: Katy Days Festival

The Katy Days Festival is dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich railroad heritage that laid the very foundation for the city of Parsons. Held annually on Memorial Day weekend, this beloved community tradition brings our history to life while gathering families, neighbors, and visitors from across the region for days filled with live entertainment, family-friendly activities, delicious food, and historical exhibits. By honoring the legacy of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad—affectionately known as the "Katy"—the festival keeps our community’s story vibrant and engaging for generations to come.

Beyond its historical significance, Katy Days serves as a major cultural and economic driver for our area, drawing tourism and showcasing the incredible community spirit that makes Parsons so unique. The festival relies on the tireless dedication of local volunteers and partners, highlighting what can be achieved when a community comes together to celebrate its roots.

Thank you to the Katy Days Festival committee, volunteers, and partners for your dedication to keeping our history alive and for hosting an event that brings so much joy and pride to our region. We're proud to have you as a member of the Parsons Area Chamber of Commerce!
