Member of the Day: The Katy Antiques
Named for the historic Katy Depot that once made downtown Parsons a hub of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas railroad, The Katy Antiques opened its doors in October 2025 with a nod to the city's past. Owners Jennifer Gournaris and family lovingly restored the building at 1810 Broadway, and stepping inside means stepping under original silver tin ceilings and chandeliers, surrounded by vendor booths full of treasures for browsers of every age.
The shop has quickly become a downtown destination, and not just for antiques — right next door, the family's Cherry on Top ice cream shop offers homemade scoops for anyone who needs a sweet reward after a good find. It's a family-built business honoring Parsons' railroad history while giving downtown one more reason to stop, stay, and shop a little longer.
