SEED Micro-Grants and Training Available to SEK Entrepreneurs
Have you ever had an idea for a business, product or service but weren't sure what to do with it? SEED is looking for you.
Applications are in the final stretch for this Southeast Kansas program designed specifically for people who are at the idea or very early stages of entrepreneurship. You don't need to already own a business, have a business plan, make sales or even know exactly what your next step should be. If you have an idea, you can apply.
Eight participants will be selected for the 10-week SEED experience, and each will receive a $1,000 micro-grant, along with mentorship, hands-on support, connections and the opportunity to learn alongside others who are building something of their own.
The application was intentionally kept simple—a short application form and a quick 1–2 minute video introducing yourself and talking about your idea. The program is also designed with working people in mind. Participants will not need to take time off work, and schedules will be coordinated with the selected cohort to find times that work.
Applications are open through September 1.
Your idea doesn't have to be ready. You just have to be ready to explore it.
And if you're reading this and immediately thought of someone else, send it to them. Sometimes a simple, "Hey, I saw this and thought of you," is the push someone needs to get started.
