Chamber to Host Candidate Forum October 13th
The Parsons Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, October 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Room at Parsons Municipal Hall. The forum will give area residents an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking to represent them at the local, state and federal levels. The forum will be streamed live on the City's website and will be available afterward for viewing.
Registered candidates from the races for U.S. Senate, U.S. House District 2, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Commissioner of Insurance, State School Board District 9, Kansas House District 7 and Labette County Commissioner are being invited to participate.
The Chamber is also asking the public to help shape the conversation by submitting questions in advance. Questions may be emailed to chamber@parsonschamber.org or submitted in writing by mailing them to the Parsons Area Chamber of Commerce, 506 Main St., Parsons, KS 67357. Questions will be reviewed prior to the forum, and candidates participating in the same race will be given equal opportunity to respond.
The goal of the forum is to give voters an opportunity to learn more about the candidates, their priorities and their positions on issues important to Parsons, Labette County and Southeast Kansas. The Candidate Forum is part of the Chamber's effort to help keep the community informed and engaged ahead of the November election. Additional information, including participating candidates and forum details, will be shared as the event approaches.
