Chalk Walk Returns to PK Art Fest with a Dr. Seuss Theme

Grab some chalk and get ready to create! The 2026 Chalk Walk Contest will be part of this year’s PK Art Fest on Saturday, October 3, with a fun Dr. Seuss theme.

Artists will create their chalk masterpieces on the sidewalks in front of First Baptist Church and north of Parsons City Hall. Drawing begins at 10 a.m., with judging at noon. Supplies will be available, but participants are also welcome to bring their own chalk and supplies.

The contest is open to all ages, with categories for Youth ages 2–12, Teens ages 13–19, Adults ages 20 and older, and Groups. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in each category.

Whether you're an experienced artist or just want to have some fun, come find a spot on the sidewalk and see what you can create! The Chalk Walk is sponsored by the Parsons Public Library and Parsons Area Chamber of Commerce as part of PK Art Fest.
