2026 Downtown Chili Challenge

2026 Downtown Chili Challenge, taking place during the final Farmers Market of the season on Saturday, September 26. The annual cookoff is one of downtown’s most spirited traditions, and organizers are seeking enthusiastic chili makers to compete, serve, and help celebrate Steamboat’s culinary creativity.

The Chili Challenge is a fundraiser for Main Street Steamboat, with proceeds supporting advertising for Restaurant Week and other downtown vitality initiatives. Cooks of all experience levels are encouraged to participate.

Tasting kits are $15.00 for adults and $10 for kids.

Awards will be presented for:

• Best Red Chili
• Best Green Chili
• Best Salsa
• Best Cornbread
• People’s Choice – Red Chili
• People’s Choice – Green Chili

Judges may also present optional awards for Best Booth Presentation or Team Spirit.
