Updated Sign Code & Permit Process
Steamboat Springs has updated its Sign Code to enhance clarity, streamline permitting, and support both the community and staff in using the CityView Sign Permit system. These updates revise portions of Article 5 (Signs) and Article 7 (Development Processes) of the Community Development Code.
What’s New
• Updated sign permitting procedures, including new Structural and Non‑Structural sign classifications
• Revised incentives to encourage participation
• Improved standards for Historic Signs
• Small Yard Signs are now exempt from permits (but must still follow enforceable standards)
• Language updates throughout to improve clarity and consistency
• Updated criteria for Minor and Major Adjustments
