Your Chance to Make the Community Shine

Routt County Clean-Up Day is right around the corner, and it’s the perfect opportunity to shake off winter, reconnect with neighbors, and help our community sparkle. On Saturday, May 16, from 8 am to noon, volunteers across the Yampa Valley will roll up their sleeves and give Routt County a fresh start for summer.

A Community Effort with Big Impact

As Main Street Steamboat Executive Director Lisa Popovich shared, “Spring has sprung, and all the treasures that accumulate over the winter are emerging. Getting our hands dirty to make sure our community looks amazing provides a great feeling. Plus, it's easy to see what you accomplished.”

Clean-up days are more than just tidying up; they’re a chance to meet new people, enjoy the outdoors, and take pride in the place we call home.

Who Can Join?

Everyone is welcome! Volunteers of all ages can participate, though children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Signing up is quick and easy at volunteersignup.org/FMHF8.

What to Bring and Where to Meet

To make the most of the morning, volunteers should come prepared with:

• Garden gloves
• A water bottle
• Weather‑appropriate layers (rain, snow, or shine!)
• A smile and community spirit

Snacks will be provided, and groups will be assigned to pick up litter and remove outdated stickers and posters throughout the downtown area.

Volunteers should gather in the Community Room of the Public Health & Human Services Building (135 6th St.), at the corner of 6th and Oak Streets. From there, teams will receive assignments and head out across the county.
