Celebrate Movement, Art, and Community at the Steamboat Springs Dance Festival

Downtown Steamboat Springs is about to come alive with color, creativity, and the joy of movement as the Steamboat Springs Dance Festival returns June 13–14. Hosted at the historic Depot Art Center and presented by Jacob Taylor Dance, this two‑day celebration invites dancers, arts lovers, families, and curious beginners to experience the magic of dance in a welcoming, community‑centered setting.

A Weekend of Dance, Art, and Inspiration

The festival opens on Thursday, June 13, with an evening Dance Concert from 7:30–10:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30 PM, giving guests time to enjoy a silent auction, connect with local artists and supporters, and grab a drink from the cash bar before the performance begins. The concert features a dynamic lineup of choreography and performance—an inspiring showcase of movement set against the backdrop of Steamboat’s creative spirit.

On Friday, June 14, the festival shifts into hands‑on learning with Master Classes from 12:00–5:00 PM. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or brand‑new to the studio, there’s something for every level and every body. Classes include:

• Yoga for dancers
• Beginner ballet
• Intermediate/advanced ballet
• Modern dance (all levels)

It’s a rare chance to learn from skilled instructors in an intimate, supportive environment—right here in downtown Steamboat.

A Perfect Setting: The Historic Depot Art Center

All events take place at the Steamboat Creates Historic Depot Art Center (1001 13th Street), one of Steamboat’s most beloved cultural landmarks. The festival’s vibrant poster—featuring artwork by RC Dieckhoff—captures the energy of dance set against our iconic mountain landscape, a reminder of how deeply the arts are woven into the fabric of our community.
