Upper Valley Women in Business Celebrates One Year Anniversary!

Women inspiring women

On Tuesday, August 11, Upper Valley Women in Business held their regular networking meeting, but this month the focus was on the one-year anniversary of the establishment of the group. Entrepreneur Layla Guryel (The Petite Studio Skin) launched Women in Business in 2025 in an effort to bring ambitious women together to learn from each other and build a strong network of women-owned businesses.

In January of 2026, UV Women in Business officially teamed up with the Upper Valley Business Alliance to leverage the resources UVBA brings to bear and work together to grow this community. It was a natural fit.

Upper Valley Women in Business is a welcoming community for local women entrepreneurs, professionals, and creatives to connect, collaborate, and inspire one another. Whether you’re running your own business, building your career, or exploring new opportunities, this group is here to share resources, ideas, and support. Our meetups and online space are all about encouragement, networking, and growth - because when women come together, amazing things happen.

While meetings typically include time for open networking and often a guest speaker on a particular business-focused subject, the August 11 celebration was planned to celebrate the women who have invested in themselves and their businesses with their commitment to showing up.

By women, for women

We were hosted by the wonderful team at SILO Distillery, had a flower bar by Lover's Lane Farm, tasty treats from Wababaland food truck, delicious egg rolls from Munchie Rollz, and a poet for hire with Robin Dellabough - all woman-owned businesses that have been involved with UV Women in Business and see the value of connecting together.

There was much conversation about where Women in Business is headed in the next year - Layla and UVBA have some exciting things in store to share with this community.
