Simplicity Credit Union Announced as Presenting Sponsor of 2026 Hometown Holiday Parade

Community Invited to Celebrate the Season and America's 250th Anniversary in Stevens Point Downtown on November 19

STEVENS POINT, WI – The Stevens Point Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to announce Simplicity Credit Union as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 Hometown Holiday Parade, taking place Thursday, November 19, at 6:00 p.m. in Stevens Point Downtown.

This year's parade will feature the theme "Celebrating Our Past, Lighting Up Our Future," in honor of America's 250th anniversary. The celebration will bring together approximately 70 festive floats, hundreds of participants, and thousands of spectators for one of the community's most cherished holiday traditions.

"We are incredibly grateful to Simplicity Credit Union for stepping forward as our Presenting Sponsor," said Karen Margelofsky, Executive Director of the Stevens Point Downtown BID. "Their investment helps us continue a tradition that brings generations together, creates lasting memories, and strengthens the sense of community that makes Stevens Point so special. Partnerships like this allow us to create experiences that welcome everyone into the heart of our downtown."

A Magical Evening in Stevens Point Downtown

The parade begins at 6:00 p.m., traveling along Main Street from Church Street toward Mathias Mitchell Square. The evening will feature dazzling floats, festive music, holiday lights, and the magical moment when Mayor Mike Wiza waves his wand to illuminate the Downtown Christmas Tree and holiday streetlights.

The Downtown BID encourages residents and visitors to make a day of it by exploring locally owned shops, enjoying downtown restaurants and seasonal treats, and gathering with family and friends before the parade.

"The Hometown Holiday Parade is about more than floats and holiday lights. It's about celebrating the businesses, families, and community connections that make our downtown a special place to gather," added Margelofsky. "We're excited to celebrate our past while looking forward to an even brighter future together."

Float Registration Still Open

Businesses, nonprofits, schools, families, and community organizations are invited to participate in the parade. Registration is limited to 70 entries and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
