Whether someone is starting a business, expanding an existing company, considering an investment in Crawford County, moving here, planning a visit, or looking for ways to become more involved, the CDC is here to help make connections and identify resources.
Everything we do is centered around one goal: creating opportunities and helping Crawford County’s businesses and communities thrive.
Denison, IA and Crawford County, IA
The Chamber & Development Council of Crawford County was formed in 2005 through the merger of the Crawford County Development Corporation and the Denison Chamber of Commerce.
Before the merger, the two organizations served many of the same businesses and communities through separate economic development and chamber efforts. By joining forces, they created one organization that could make better use of staff and resources, reduce duplicated services, and provide a more coordinated approach to growth throughout Crawford County.
Since then, the CDC’s role has continued to evolve. What began as a combined chamber and economic development organization has grown to include business retention and recruitment, entrepreneurship, tourism, community events, leadership development, workforce initiatives, property development and redevelopment, and programs that help local businesses connect and succeed.
Although our programs have changed alongside the needs of Crawford County, our purpose has remained consistent: to bring people and resources together, strengthen our local economy, and help create a vibrant future for all Crawford County communities.
