MOORE’S GARAGE

By, MaryAnne Povey

Car need repair? Not sure who to trust or where to take it? Check out Moore’s Garage, one of the area’s top auto repair shops, located at 6326 Main Avenue in Orangevale, owned and operated by Jim and Maureena Moore.

The husband and wife team opened their shop in February 2011 and have been serving the area’s auto repair needs ever since. They are long time Orangevale residents, establishing roots back in 1985. Jim Moore, a lifelong car enthusiast, pursued his love for tinkering with cars by training in auto technology after high school and receiving multiple expert certifications. His years of experience in the automotive arena ranged from specialty shops and dealerships to large national auto repair chains before launching a business of his own. Those years working in the auto repair industry revealed a strong need for better customer communication. It’s this need for better customer service that inspired him to go out on his own.

“I’ve always felt that you should treat your customers as you would your mom or grandparents,” Jim reflected. “I’ve always taken pride in the work I do since it represents me and my family to the community. It’s very important that every vehicle is repaired correctly the first time.”

Moore’s Garage handles all types of vehicle repairs and diesel vehicles as well.  Not only do they offer major repairs at an affordable price but do regular maintenance for their customers too.

“Fall is a good time to think about some basic maintenance for your vehicle,” said Maureena Moore, office manager for the family business.

“Once the temperature changes, it’s a good idea to check out your vehicle’s fluids, battery, tire pressure and windshield wipers,” she said.  “You never can go wrong checking the basics to make sure you’re in good shape before hitting the road,” she added.

Besides running a successful auto repair business, the Moore’s believe in giving back to the community and do so by donating to many worthy causes including Casa Roble athletics, pony ball, soccer, and the Orangevale Food bank among others. One group in particular near and dear to their hearts is the “Feed my Starving Children” an organization which helps with the packing and distribution of food to people in developing nations.

Moore’s Garage is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Stop by and say hello or you can check out their website at www.JimMooresGarage.com
