Holiday Gnomes hidden in Downtown Murfreesboro

Bring the Family, Grab a Friend, Make a Memory

Downtown Murfreesboro just got a little more magical. Eight tiny gnome houses have appeared in storefronts around the square, and they’re ready for your family to find them! This downtown scavenger hunt is the perfect way to add some holiday fun to your next stroll in the heart of Murfreesboro.

Where did the idea come from?

Sarah and MIchael Linn hide gnome houses downtown for Christmas adventures

A huge thank-you goes to Michael Linn White (Murfreesboro CityTV), who brought this creative, whimsical idea to Main Street Murfreesboro. As Michael shared, "The Christmas gnome idea was born from the creativity of my friend back home in Oxford. She had the idea years ago to gather a small group of our friends and do something fun for the community to enjoy at Christmas time. It’s been such a hit back home, I thought what a wonderful idea to bring to our beautiful Boro square! Just a little something to bring as smile. And doing this little project with one of my besties makes it even more special! "

What started as a simple suggestion turned into a full-scale adventure for families, friends, and anyone who loves exploring downtown.

Handcrafted With Love

Each gnome house was made with incredible care by the Callender family, who spent their Thanksgiving break building all eight houses by hand. Their creativity and craftsmanship brought these tiny dwellings to life, and we are so grateful for the time and love they poured into this project.
