Mission: We are committed to preserving a historically and financially thriving Main Street through economic development and community engagement.
Vision: Lansing will be a thriving business community in a charming atmosphere, built on honesty and integrity, with friendly people working together. Lansing’s location in the Bluffs on the Mississippi River makes its historical Main Street district a travel destination where everyone wants to visit, shop and stay forever.
Since downtown is the center of community spirit and first impression of the community – residents and visitors will find full store fronts, a variety of basic and unique businesses, jobs, a new streetscape, and updated buildings that recognize their history while incorporating 21st century technology. Buying local will be a priority
Businesses and new ideas for tourists, combined with hometown feel businesses, will encourage small business opportunities and increased spending. Year round activities will be an inspiration to enter, whether by highway or bridge, into Lansing, where Main Street matters.

Allamakee County, Lansing, Iowa
Main Street Lansing was started at a time when the Lansing Chamber organization was dissolved and a gap was felt in support of our businesses and community betterment. The Main Street approach was considered and ultimately sought by our community through Main Street Iowa. Over the past 12 years we've logged over 37,000 volunteer hours and over $6 Million in private investment in our Main Street district. The efforts of Main Street Lansing can be seen by our low vacancy rates, renovated Main Street Plaza, public art installations, updated flowers and trash cans downtown, and lighting projects. There is always work to be done and Main Street Lansing is here to lead Lansing to a stronger and more vibrant downtown.
