Founded in 2013The Genesis of the Foundation
In 2010, Comstock Mining, Inc. embarked on a visionary project to address the deteriorating historical resources of the National Historic Landmark.Committing 1% of bullion from the Lucerne Pit for preservation efforts, the company, under the leadership of Ron James and Corrado De Gasperis, realized the need for a specialized non-profit organization. Thus, the Comstock Foundation for History and Culture was born.
Legal Status and Milestones
Gaining formal legal status in the summer of 2013 in Nevada, our Foundation held its inaugural board meeting on July 24, 2013. This marked the beginning of our focused initiatives in preservation. A significant milestone was achieved on June 5, 2014, with the reception of the 501c3 status from the IRS, bolstering our mission.
