Chalk of the Town 2026: Old Town's Sidewalk Art Festival

Join us in Old Town Lansing on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for Chalk of the Town, a free, family-friendly celebration of creativity and community. Watch talented artists from across the region transform sidewalks into stunning, large-scale chalk masterpieces throughout the district.

Visitors can stroll through Old Town, meet local artists, explore unique shops, enjoy local restaurants, and experience art being created live before their eyes. Artwork will be judged throughout the afternoon, with winners announced at 4:00 PM at Turner Mini Park.

With artists creating up to 50-square-foot sidewalk murals, Chalk of the Town offers a unique opportunity to experience public art in a vibrant and interactive setting. The event takes place alongside the inaugural Roper Romp, making for an exciting day filled with art, entertainment, shopping, and community fun.
