Description

Join Green Gardening, our free earth-friendly gardening series that teaches Ojai residents how to grow healthier plants and environments. This particular workshop will feature our series instructor, Erin Harris discussing the principles of harmony gardening, a technique to create a balanced eco system for growing. Discover how to use companion plants and cover crops, manage pests, and monitor plant health.

The name Harmony Gardening comes from a guiding foundation of growing food in harmony with Nature. You’ll find that many of these methods and practices correspond closely with regenerative gardening. Regenerative farming or gardening is often described as growing in a manner that removes carbon from the atmosphere and puts it back into the soil in order to reduce harmful carbon emissions. It avoids all conventional methods, such as chemical fertilizer and pesticide use and heavy tillage, that harm our environment.

NOTE: All participants in events held on City of Ojai property must fill out the Volunteer Agreement on this page (a fillable PDF) as well as register for the event below. Thank you for filling out both forms!
