Trick or Treat Gillette Main Street: A Treasured Tradition for Over 30 Years

For more than three decades, Trick or Treat Gillette Main Street has been one of our community’s most beloved Halloween traditions. What began as a simple idea—to give our littlest ghouls and goblins a safe, joy-filled place to celebrate—has grown into a multigenerational event that Gillette cherishes year after year.

 A Sweet Beginning

The event originally started as a special Halloween outing for kiddos who weren’t yet school-aged. It offered a calm, friendly space where they could dress up, gather treats, and enjoy the magic of the holiday without the hustle and bustle of the bigger kids.

 Growing With the Community

As the tradition took root and participation grew, we stretched the celebration later into the afternoon so school-age kids could join in after classes. That simple extension transformed Trick or Treat Gillette Main Street into a full-community celebration—one that now bridges generations. Parents who once toddled downtown in costume are now bringing their own children to enjoy the same tradition.

Our Biggest Year Yet

This year’s turnout was one of the largest in our history, with more than 3,300 costumed kiddos filling downtown with everything from adorable to spooky—and every creature in between. And the surprises didn’t stop there… we even welcomed a special four-legged “kid” to the festivities: an adorable pet goat who stole plenty of hearts (and maybe a few photo ops)!

 Looking Ahead to 2026

We already can’t wait for next year, when we’ll be pulling out all the stops for a combined Boo Fest / Trick or Treat Gillette Main Street celebration on Saturday, October 31st. With even more treats, costumes, and community magic on the horizon, we’re excited to make the next one our biggest and best yet.
