Leave Your Mark: Support the Crawford County Commission on Aging with a Legacy Brick
The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center is giving community members a new way to support local seniors while creating a lasting tribute to the people, organizations and memories that make Crawford County special.
Through its “Set Your Legacy in Stone” engraved brick campaign, individuals, families, businesses and organizations can purchase a personalized brick that will become part of a permanent display near the Commission on Aging’s newly constructed pickleball courts.
Bricks can be personalized to recognize just about anyone or anything meaningful to you — a family member, friend, veteran, local business, organization, special occasion or someone who has made a difference in our community. Buyers can choose from several brick sizes and a large collection of graphics, including emblems representing all branches of the U.S. military. Custom artwork and logos can also be incorporated into certain designs.
More Than a Brick
While the permanent display will be located near the pickleball courts, the campaign is about much more than the new recreation space.
Funds raised through brick purchases will support the programs and services offered by the Crawford County Commission on Aging, including Meals on Wheels, advocacy programs, fitness classes and other services that help Crawford County's older adults remain active, healthy and independent.
The Commission on Aging has served Crawford County since 1973 and provides programs and services for adults age 60 and older throughout Crawford County and Grayling. Donations play an important role in helping the organization maintain those services and meet the needs of local seniors.
Businesses and Organizations Can Participate, Too
The campaign is also an opportunity for local businesses, clubs, civic organizations, families and other groups to leave their own mark on the community.
In addition to individual engraved bricks, organizations interested in a larger presence can inquire about multi-brick arrays or mosaics featuring a logo or emblem across multiple bricks.
Whether your brick honors someone you love, recognizes a local organization, celebrates your family or business, remembers someone who is missed, or simply shows your support for Crawford County seniors, it will become part of a permanent community display for years to come.
