Welcome to the Chamber: Crawford County Transportation Authority
The Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Crawford County Transportation Authority (CCTA) as one of our newest Chamber members!
For 50 years, CCTA has been doing something essential for Crawford County: helping people stay connected.
Established in 1976, Crawford County Transportation Authority provides public transportation throughout Crawford County through its demand-response, Dial-A-Ride service. Rather than operating only along a traditional fixed bus route, riders can call to request transportation, with CCTA providing curb-to-curb shared rides and scheduled service to communities and outlying areas throughout the county.
That service can mean a ride to work, a medical appointment, the grocery store, an after-school activity or simply an opportunity to participate more fully in the community.
CCTA sums up that purpose in its mission: providing safe, efficient and affordable transportation that supports individual independence and connects people to their community.
Serving Crawford County — and the People Who Call It Home
CCTA's reach extends well beyond Grayling, with scheduled service to areas including Frederic and Maple Forest, Beaver Creek, South Branch and Roscommon, Lovells, and communities along M-72 east and west. Its fleet is also equipped with wheelchair lifts, helping make public transportation accessible to residents with mobility needs.
Affordability is another important part of the service. Current in-county fares are just $1 for adults ages 18–59 and 50 cents for children, seniors over 60 and riders with disabilities.
For a rural community like ours, transportation can have an impact far beyond getting someone from Point A to Point B. Reliable transportation can help someone remain independent, get to a job, access services, support local businesses and stay involved in the community.
That's why we're especially glad to have CCTA joining the Chamber.
Connecting People Strengthens Our Community
At the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce, we talk a lot about connections — connecting businesses with customers, organizations with resources, and people with opportunities.
CCTA makes those connections possible in a very literal way every day.
As a new Chamber member, CCTA joins a network of businesses and organizations invested in making the Grayling area a stronger place to live, work, visit and do business. We're looking forward to helping our community learn more about the services CCTA provides and highlighting the people behind an organization that has served Crawford County for five decades.
CCTA currently operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Riders are encouraged to request rides in advance when possible, particularly when traveling from outlying areas.
Please join us in welcoming Crawford County Transportation Authority to the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce!
