A new membership year begins November 1 at the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce—and we're heading into 2027 with a goal that goes beyond simply growing our membership.

We want every Chamber member to get more out of being one.

If you're a current member, you may have already received your 2027 membership renewal invoice. Consider that invoice the beginning of the conversation, not the whole story.

Your Chamber membership isn't simply a line item to renew each year. It's an opportunity to promote your business, build new relationships, share what's happening within your organization and stay connected to the people and opportunities shaping the Grayling area.

Put the Chamber to Work Promoting Your Business

One of our most important jobs at the Chamber is helping people discover the businesses and organizations that make our community work.

Chamber members have opportunities throughout the year to share business news, upcoming events, milestones, job openings, promotions and other updates through Chamber communication channels.

Our weekly newsletter reaches nearly 2,000 subscribers interested in what's happening throughout the Grayling area, while our website, business directory and social media channels provide additional ways for members to reach local residents, visitors and fellow businesses.

Members can also participate in our Member Spotlight program, submit events to the community calendar and work with the Chamber to celebrate milestones through ribbon cuttings and other promotional opportunities.

The key is letting us know what's happening. When you have something worth sharing, send it our way.

Build Relationships, Not Just a Business Listing

Membership is also about connection.

Business After Hours events, ribbon cuttings, Chamber programs and other gatherings give members opportunities to meet the people behind businesses and organizations throughout our community.

Sometimes those conversations lead to a new customer. Sometimes they lead to a vendor, partner, referral, volunteer or simply a relationship with someone you didn't know before.

Those connections matter, especially in a community like ours.

And you don't have to wait for an event to reach out. Part of the Chamber's role is helping make connections. If you're looking for a resource, trying to meet another local business or aren't sure who to call, the Chamber is a great place to start.

The Chamber can't share a story we don't know about, and we want to hear what's happening inside our member businesses and organizations.

One of our priorities for 2027 is making it easier for members to communicate with us and making sure there are clear ways to submit news, events and information for consideration across our communication channels.

Renewing your Chamber membership shouldn't be the only time you think about the Chamber each year.

We want members to ask themselves throughout 2027:

Am I using my membership?

Have you updated your business directory listing? Submitted your upcoming events? Sent us business news? Reserved your annual Member Spotlight? Attended a Business After Hours? Introduced yourself to another member? Asked the Chamber to help make a connection?

If the answer is no, that's okay—but let's change it.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be highlighting more of the opportunities available through Chamber membership and showing members exactly how to access and use them.
