A Fresh Brew on Main Street: Herman’s Brew Opens in Downtown Beattyville

There is something powerful about a vacant building coming back to life.

After sitting vacant for more than 10 years — and standing through the floods of 2001 and 2024 — the storefront across from the Beattyville Town Square on Main Street has a new purpose. The doors are open, the lights are on, and Herman’s Brew is officially part of downtown Beattyville.

Located at 157 Main Street, this new coffee shop is more than a place to grab a latte. It represents continued investment, resilience, and belief in downtown Beattyville.

A Stop Visitors Will Love

For travelers exploring the Red River Gorge, paddling the Kentucky River, riding scenic backroads, or visiting during one of our festivals, Herman’s Brew is the perfect downtown stop.

Guests will find: A gluten-free optional menu, Dairy-free and sugar-free options, Whole, almond, and oat milk choices, Fresh breakfast and lunch selections and Specialty lattes, drip coffee, and seasonal drinks.

Fuel up before the trails. Cool down after an event. Warm up on a crisp mountain morning.

A Downtown That’s Growing

Herman’s Brew joins a growing lineup of locally owned Main Street businesses helping shape the next chapter of Beattyville:

Banjo’s Home & Labor Co., 113 Main Street

The Moon & Me, 109 Main Street

CB’s Discount Store, 88 Main Street

Main Street Snack Shack, 91 Main Street

The Locally Made Farmers Market, 290 Main Street

Every time you shop and dine downtown, you’re helping strengthen local families, preserve historic buildings, and build momentum for future growth.

A Special Thank You

A special thank you goes to the Beattyville Main Street Program, led by Director Teresa Mays. Their steady leadership and behind-the-scenes work have helped create an inviting atmosphere that encourages new businesses to take root.

From working directly with entrepreneurs, promoting new storefronts, and providing technical assistance, to connecting owners with small business development programs, their impact is visible up and down Main Street.

They are also continuously pursuing funding opportunities to improve downtown — including projects like enhancements to the Town Square, the WPA brownfield grant, the American 250 grant, and other revitalization efforts. That groundwork makes moments like this possible.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re excited to see Herman’s Brew become part of 2026 Main Street events, festivals, cruise-ins, and community celebrations. Having a welcoming coffee shop directly across from the Town Square strengthens the experience for locals and visitors alike.

If you live here, choose local.

If you’re visiting, make downtown Beattyville part of your trip.

Grab a cup. Walk the square. Explore the shops. Stay awhile.
