Main Street Kirksville Announces Statewide Best Mainstreet or Downtown Honor

Main Street Kirksville announces that downtown Kirksville has been named the Winner of Best Mainstreet or Downtown in the Best of Rural Missouri Readers Choice Contest, as featured in the April 2026 issue of Rural Missouri magazine. This annual contest highlights the most beloved hometown destinations across the state as voted on by readers, with Kirksville rising to the top among Missouri downtowns.

The recognition reflects the strength of Kirksville’s locally owned businesses, unique dining and shopping options, and the ongoing commitment of community partners and volunteers who invest their time and resources in the historic downtown district. Main Street Kirksville has worked alongside merchants, property owners and civic organizations to support business growth, enhance the appearance of the district and create events that draw residents and visitors throughout the year.
