Downtown Live Returns to the Square on May 30th
Live Music, Food Trucks and Fun on the Square!
Downtown Kirksville is getting ready to come alive again this May as Downtown Live returns to the Square for another unforgettable evening of music, food, and community. Hosted by Main Street Kirksville and City of Kirksville Tourism, this year’s Downtown Live will take place on Saturday, May 30, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the heart of Downtown Kirksville.
Building on the energy and excitement of last year’s event, when the community packed the downtown square for live music, food trucks, and family-friendly fun, Downtown Live has quickly become a favorite way to kick off summer in Kirksville. In 2025, Downtown Live was part of a weekend full of activity in the area, complementing Special Olympics Missouri’s State Summer Games in town and drawing residents and visitors alike to experience what makes our downtown special.
Live Music
This year, guests can look forward to an evening designed to showcase local talent, local flavor, and local businesses. The night will feature live music from Lacey Mihalevich, whose recent Downtown Live performance in Kirksville drew an enthusiastic crowd and rave reviews from attendees. Food trucks will be set up around the square, offering a variety of options for dinner or snacks while you listen to music, visit with neighbors, and enjoy the atmosphere.
In addition to food trucks and live entertainment, Downtown Live highlights the unique character of Downtown Kirksville by encouraging visitors to explore local shops and restaurants. Many downtown businesses will be open late until 8:00 p.m., giving you extra time to browse, shop, and dine. The event also includes fun extras that make the evening feel special, such as hair tinsel provided by Elevated Salon, adding a bit of sparkle for kids and adults alike.
