Strengthening Downtown Kirksville: Lessons from Missouri’s Downtown Revitalization Conference in Springfield

On July 29–30, 2026, Downtown Kirksville joined Main Street programs from across Missouri at Missouri Main Street Connection’s Premier Downtown Revitalization Conference in Springfield. Hosted by Missouri Main Street Connection, Inc., the conference focuses on helping communities strengthen their historic downtowns, grow local economies, and preserve the character that makes each Main Street unique.

Representing Main Street Kirksville were Executive Director Laci Cook, MSK President Jayme Tiberi‑Ramos, MSK Treasurer Nicole Tallcott, and Board Member Krystal Morris. Over two days, they attended sessions, walked Springfield’s historic streets, and connected with peers from across the state to bring home new ideas for Downtown Kirksville.

“Seeing how other communities have invested in their downtowns was incredibly inspiring,” said Laci Cook. “We’re coming home with practical strategies and a renewed sense of what’s possible for Downtown Kirksville when we work together.”
