Main Street Kirksville Shows Up in July

Monthly Meeting Success

Summer often means lighter crowds at meetings, but that was not the case for the Main Street Kirksville monthly meeting on Monday, July six. Building owners, business owners, partners, and community members filled the room, ready to hear what is next for downtown Kirksville and how they can be part of it.

Executive Director Laci Cook and the Main Street team shared updates on current projects, including ongoing beautification work, plans for upcoming events, and the continued roll out of programs that support local businesses and bring people to the courthouse square. Attendees heard about the strong momentum behind Main Street initiatives, from public art and seasonal activities to collaborative efforts with partners across the community.

The conversation also highlighted the growing number of engaged partners who are investing time, resources, and ideas into Main Street Kirksville. Participants asked thoughtful questions, shared suggestions, and connected with one another about ways to strengthen downtown as a destination for shopping, dining, and gathering.

As one takeaway from the evening, it was clear that Main Street Kirksville is not just an organization, it is a network of people who care deeply about the heart of Kirksville and are willing to show up, even in the middle of a busy summer. That kind of year round commitment is exactly what keeps our historic downtown square moving forward.

If you missed the July meeting but want to get involved, you are invited to join us at a future monthly meeting or reach out to the Main Street Kirksville office to learn more about becoming a partner and staying connected to what is happening downtown.
