Founded in 1950The Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce was founded as a non-profit in June of 1950 and is still the legal name.
The Center One Foundation filed articles of incorporation with the Iowa Secretary of State in November 1987. In April 1988 filed an amendment of receipt of 501c3 non-profit status.
Hampton has been a Main Street Community since 1991.
In 2003, the Chamber agreed to operate Tourism as a non-profit entity.
Chamber and Main Street merged in 2010.
Doing business as the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce was added in 2011 with a focus on benefiting all Franklin County businesses and families.
