Fourth Friday Tazewell is Back for the 2026 Season

Fourth Friday Is Back -- And This One Is Extra Special!

Spring is here, and that means it's time to head downtown for another great evening on Main Street! Fourth Friday returns on April 24th with games, music, late-night shopping, and something truly special to wrap up the night -- a screening of a classic film that hits close to home for all of us here in Tazewell County.

A Fun-Filled Evening for the Whole Family

The fun gets started at 6 p.m. at the Altizer Stage on Main Street, where a DJ will keep the music going while you enjoy a fantastic lineup of games and activities for all ages. Try your hand at corn hole, ring toss, or Connect Four. Challenge a friend to a game of chess or cards. Get the kids hula hooping, organize a badminton match, or test your strategy in a round of giant tic tac toe. Whether you're competitive or just along for the fun, there's something for everyone. It's the perfect way to kick off the weekend with your kids, your neighbors, and your community.

Main Street businesses will be open late, so take your time browsing, grab a bite, and enjoy everything our downtown has to offer. Please keep in mind that the stage area, Central Avenue, and Elk Avenue will be closed to traffic for the evening, but Main Street remains open.

Head Inside for a Piece of Tazewell History

At 8 p.m., make your way to the American Legion building for the highlight of the evening. We'll be screening the beloved 1994 family classic Lassie, and if you haven't seen it in a while, this is the perfect excuse to watch it again. But here's what makes this screening extra meaningful: Lassie was filmed right here in Tazewell County. That's right, our home served as the backdrop for this timeless story of loyalty, adventure, and the unbreakable bond between a boy and his dog. Whether you remember watching it as a kid or you're introducing it to a new generation, seeing those familiar landscapes on screen is something pretty special. You might even catch a local or two as movie extras.

Something New Every Month

April 24th is just the beginning! Fourth Friday events continue throughout the season, and each one will bring something different to downtown Tazewell. Games and movies tonight, but who knows what's next? Follow us on social media and stay tuned so you don't miss what's coming up.
