District Manager
Application Deadline: July 22, 2026The Russell County Conservation District is seeking a full-time District Manager.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of district activities in accordance with the policies and guidelines established by the Board of Supervisors and our partner agency, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Duties include a variety of administrative and clerical tasks supporting conservation programs, such as managing state cost-share programs, processing payroll, and completing monthly and quarterly tax reporting.
The applicant must be friendly, self-motivated, and organized, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with QuickBooks is beneficial. Applicants should have basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and a commitment to supporting conservation education and outreach efforts. Occasional overnight travel for work-related meetings is required. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a federal background check are mandatory.
Wages are based on experience. Benefits include annual and sick leave, KPERS retirement, a health insurance stipend, and paid federal holidays.
