Small Business and Local Nonprofit Website Tips and Suggestions

Whether you run a local business or nonprofit there are opportunities to learn from what other people do well and areas they need improve. In this episode, I do a breakdown of local nonprofit Folsom's Hope in Folsom, CA. See Folsom's Hope in our Folsom-Area Nonprofit Directory.

I had an opportunity to meet with their founder, Salwa, and discuss some of their exciting plans as well as a broader project we're working on locally (more on that later).

Looking into their site, you see a well laid out, clean, mobile-optimized site that highlights their purpose and ways people can participate.

As you see in the video, they do a number of things well and the areas for improvement are largely next-level improvement sorts of things.

We covered much of this in a previous post about the 5 elements of a good homepage design.

They proactively recognize their sponsors and they can take it further and tap into their Local Connections to get added brand exposure for their supporters while also getting more help from supporters with no additional monetary commitment.
